Mona Monash

Mona Monash is a Ukrainian children's book author and illustrator based in Prague. She currently focuses on illustrating and writing children's stories, as well as creating illustrations for both fiction and non-fiction books.

In 2011, Mona graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Fine Arts with a Specialist Degree in Graphic Design. Over her career, she has explored various creative fields, including graphic design and character animation. Mona has successfully collaborated with commercial clients and created popular microstock graphics, with her illustrations and patterns being highly sought after for product designs worldwide.

Motherhood inspired her to create her first children's book, after which she fully embraced the world of children’s illustration. Recently, Mona has been working primarily in digital media; however, her strong background in traditional media enriches her work with expressiveness and depth. She skillfully uses a bright, multi-colored palette to create engaging, visually striking illustrations.

Mona is passionate about character creation, focusing on emotions and infusing her characters with humor and charm. She enjoys crafting illustrations that tell captivating stories and finds great joy in her work.

Her ideas are inspired by a love for nature, cooking, folklore, and, of course, the enchanting world of childhood. When not drawing, Mona enjoys traveling with her family and exploring new cultures. She also loves spending time in nature, where she collects plant specimens for her ever-growing herbarium collection.
